I purchased the Sentry Business Fire Safe Model OA5848 after doing quite a bit of internet research.
My use for this safe is personal and business document storage, storage of an external hard drive with all my backup data, and a couple of other small and valuable items.
I received my safe delivery a few daysearlier than quoted- the fast delivery time was a definite plus!
This safe was easy to set up and use. It came with two moisture-absorbing packs from the manufacturer. I removed these packs and "recharged" them as they had noticibly absorbed moisture left from the manufacturing process. I live in a desert area, so ambient moisture will not be a big issue. If you live in a humid area, you need to make sure high levels of humidity won't build up.
One of the reasons I purchased this safe was the fact that it is 2.0 cubic feet- most safes in this price range are much smaller. I needed room for document storage and small items, and this model fits the bill by allowing for an area designed for hanging file folders. In addition, a lockable pull-out drawer is included. This drawer is handy for items like passports, credit cards, firearms, etc. It is also wide enough to fit my laptop computer.
The safe comes with a set of bolts if you want to bolt the unit to the floor. It weighs around 200 lbs, so keep that in mind for moving and other issues.
I am very pleased with this safe- as far as price is concerned, I am completely sure this is the absolute best price online, and will definitely beat any price you would get from a locksmith or small safe dealer. You can't go wrong with Authority Safes- when I called to confirm my order (they take paypal or credit cards) they answered the phone right away and had all the details of my transaction available.
